Im Jahr 2005 verwandelte die beeindruckende Kunstinstallation "The Gates" von Christo und Jeanne-Claude den Central Park in ein lebendiges Farbenspiel aus 7.503 orangefarbenen Toren. Diese Installation war nicht nur ein ästhetisches Highlight, sondern auch ein bedeutendes kulturelles Ereignis.

Während meines Aufenthalts in New York hatte ich die Gelegenheit, die Installation zu erleben und die Atmosphäre der Stadt aufzusaugen. Besonders unvergesslich war das gemeinsam geplante Treffen mit Esther Bertram, einer Musikerin aus Australien, die ebenfalls für eine Woche in der Stadt kam. Unsere Gespräche über Kunst, Musik, Fotografie_ und die inspirierende Kraft von Städten verbanden uns auf eine tiefere Ebene.

In 2005, the impressive art installation "The Gates" by Christo and Jeanne-Claude transformed Central Park into a vibrant play of color with 7,503 orange gates. This installation was not only an aesthetic highlight but also a significant cultural event.

During my time in New York, I had the opportunity to experience the installation and absorb the city's atmosphere. What made this experience even more memorable was a planned meeting with Esther Bertram, a musician from Australia, who was also in the city for a week. Our conversations about art, music, photography, and the inspiring power of cities connected us on a deeper level.

The photographs I took of the installation capture the beauty and magic of the moment, showing how art and personal encounters enrich life. I also had the chance to meet Christo and Jeanne-Claude in person early one morning at 9 a.m. when I accidentally ran through their "Breakfast TV" live broadcast.
