Über Eva-Maria Horstick

For me, diversity is very important as a photographer. I don't want to be confined to one theme or style all the time. I am genuinely interested in the world out there, with its variety and uniqueness.

Since not everything is visible on the internet, you can't see all of my work, because I have dedicated my life to art and photography.

I hope this also inspires young people to follow their dreams, because we have this time on earth. I believe in energy and souls, and that we come back as long as it's necessary to become wise.

Editionen erscheinen in kleinen Auflagen.

About Eve

I work without boundaries for others and for myself. Art has no limits, and I have lived by this belief since a long time.

My practice explores the infinite possibilities of creativity, pushing beyond conventional lines to reveal new perspectives and connections. I embrace experimentation, merging diverse media and techniques to challenge expectations what art can be.

For me, making art is a continuous dialogue between freedom and responsibility: a commitment to honesty, courage, and curiosity. I seek work that resonates on an intuitive, emotional level while engaging with broader social and personal contexts.

Eva-M. Horstick

Eva-Maria Horstick, born in Germany, is a versatile artist and photographer who has been viewing the world through her lens since the age of 10. Her passion for photography began early and has evolved over the years into a profound form of artistic expression.
After completing her schooling, Eva-Maria first trained in a photography studio while also working as a model at fashion shows. She then went on to become a choreographer and organizer of large-scale shows for designers, before pursuing a degree in photo design to further develop her technical skills and creative visions. During her studies, she discovered the power of photography not only as documentation but also as a means of emotional and visual storytelling.
Eva has traveled to Israel and the West Bank as a photographer, and in Bethlehem, she saw many works by Banksy on the walls. She also met Banksy personally in 2012 at a hotel by the Dead Sea. "Just an ordinary guy, not unusually different, but his art is simply breathtaking."
Today, she combines various media to realize her artistic vision, exploring themes such as isolation, transience, and the visibility of everyday life. Her works encourage viewers to see the world with new eyes and to find deeper emotions in the silence and seclusion of life.
Eva-Maria Horstick lives and works with the belief that art has a transformative power to connect people and inspire reflection.

Text Sönke C. Weiss 2020

About Me as a Photographer and ArtistI am a visual artist whose work focuses on exploring women, spaces, and the diverse situations that shape our understanding of identity and society. My art is a journey that takes me both in my homeland and across the globe, always seeking new perspectives that are both intimate and universal. I draw inspiration from the complexity of human relationships and the varied contexts in which they unfold. In my work, I am not only interested in portraying women, but also in decoding the spaces they inhabit—whether physical, intimate, or metaphorical. These spaces often reflect power dynamics, social norms, and the ongoing quest for self-realization. My photography questions how women experience, conquer, or are constrained by these spaces, and opens a dialogue about the construction of identity in a global, often fragmented context.Over the course of my career, I have participated in numerous international exhibitions, presenting my work in various countries. Constantly exchanging ideas and perspectives that enrich and expand my art. These international experiences have helped me view the themes of my work from different angles, challenging the boundaries between various geographic and cultural spaces.A central goal of my art is to find new ways of representing women, myself and their/my stories, often caught between traditional expectations and the real complexity of their lives. I strive to create spaces where women are not only subjects but also active creators of their own narratives. Constantly engaging with the shifting societal conditions and the ever-evolving technological advancements in the field of photography requires ongoing development of my own practice. I experiment with new forms of expression, both analog and digital, creating visual stories that go beyond the surface of reality to address deeper questions of power, freedom, belonging, and change. To show new perspectives, rethink spaces, and reconsider the role of women in today's world from different angles. Each project, each image, each exhibition is another step in the search for understanding of identity and space, one that carries both a personal and universal dimension of our life.
